Table of Contents
The milk of the lioness is seen at its best when stored in a golden cup. Worshipping prospers in a proper container. The lover who wholly loves can reach reality. The container matters: the body, the mind, the heart must be prepared to receive. The golden cup is the disciplined, purified being. The milk of the lioness is the divine energy—only a prepared vessel can hold it.
When Doubt Is Not, Trust Is
When Doubt Is Not, Trust Is. 'Why doesn't trust arise from a decision to trust?' Trust is not a decision. When you're finished with doubting, trust arises. Trust is not contrary to doubt—it's the absence of doubt. You deal with doubt, not with trust. When doubt is not, trust is: trust is what remains when doubt dissolves. Don't try to trust—just see through doubt.
Close Your Eyes And Try To Catch Him
Close Your Eyes And Try To Catch Him. 'Never plunge into the river of lust—it has no shores.' Go to the home of beauty and form to see the man within. His ways cross where life lives with death. Close your eyes and try to catch Him: the inner beloved is not found by looking outward. Lust dissipates; love intensifies. The formless is found within form.
Remember To Stop In The Middle
Remember To Stop In The Middle. The optimist digging through manure looking for a pony. The pessimist surrounded by toys, complaining. Remember to stop in the middle: the middle is the golden mean. Don't be optimist or pessimist—be a realist who sees things as they are. The middle path: not indulging, not repressing—just being aware.
Die Living
Die Living. 'The man that breathes lives on the air; the other, unseen, rests above reach. Between the two moves another man as a secret link.' Die living: die to the ego while fully alive. The secret link between breath and the unbreathing is your consciousness. Don't wait for death to die—die now to the false and live eternally.
Now Is Not Part Of Time
Now Is Not Part Of Time. 'How should I pray?' Prayer is not a technique—no pattern. Whatsoever happens in the moment is right: tears, song, dance, silence. Prayer is in the content, not the container. Now is not part of time: the present moment is eternity. Prayer happens in the now, not in the future or past. Don't ask how—just let your heart pour.
They Kill Lust With Lust
They Kill Lust With Lust. 'Those who are dead and yet fully alive and know the flavors of loving—they will cross the river.' The Bauls transform lust into love, not by fighting but by going through it. They kill lust with lust: use the energy of desire itself to transcend desire. The dead who are alive: dead to the ego, alive in God.
I'm Just Being To You
I'm Just Being To You. 'What do you do when somebody hates you?' Whether someone hates or loves you should make no difference. If you are, you remain the same. If you are not, anyone can push your buttons. I'm just being to you: the master doesn't react—he responds from his being. Your inner climate remains the same regardless of outer weather.
Be The Formless In You
Be The Formless In You. 'My heart, dress yourself in the spirit of all women and reverse your nature and habits. Millions of suns will burst open with brilliance.' Be the formless in you: don't identify with any form—body, mind, gender. The formless within is your true nature. When you drop all forms, millions of suns of awareness burst forth.
Love Is Death
Love Is Death. 'There is no more searching. I have found nothing in particular, but I feel free.' God is not a particular thing—He is sheer existence. You cannot find Him somewhere because He is everywhere. Love is death: love kills the lover and leaves only love. The search stops not by finding something particular but by dissolving into the universal.
